REST IN PEACE FREDDIE MERCURY
(FARROKH BULSARA; 1946-1991)
Freddie Mercury ( his real name was Farrokh Bulsara)
was a British singer-songwriter; he was born in Zanzibar in 1946. His family fled the Zanzibar Revolution, moving
to Middlesex, in England. In 1970, he formed the “QUEEN” with Brian May and
Roger Taylor. He wrote many songs for this music group, the first one being
“Bohemian Rhapsody”. He also led a solo career and served as a producer and
guest musician for other artists. In 1984 he wrote the song “Radio GaGa” which
will be used together with “Bohemian Rhapsody” for the AID, the beneficial
concert for Africa at the Wembley Stadium. In 1991, at 45 years old, when he
was diagnosed with AIDS/HIV, he wrote his last song: “Mother Love” and on 24th
of November he died. On 20th April 1992, many singers including the
remaining three members of QUEEN, dedicated a concert to him. In 2018, the
movie “Bohemian Rhapsody”, based on the QUEEN’s 15 years, was released; and now
some teenagers know who Freddie Mercury is.
